This Refund Policy explains our policies regarding refunds, cancellations, and credit management for the Seedance platform. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
1. Credit-Based System
1.1 How Credits Work
Seedance operates on a credit-based system:
- Credits are the sole currency for generating videos and images
- Different operations consume different amounts of credits
- Credits are purchased through subscription plans or one-time credit packs
1.2 Credit Consumption
Credits are consumed when you:
- Generate a video from text or images
- Use advanced editing features
- Process high-resolution or extended-duration content
The number of credits consumed depends on:
- Video duration and resolution
- Complexity of the generation task
- Premium features used
2. Refund Policy
2.1 Used Credits Are Non-Refundable
Once credits have been consumed to generate content, they are non-refundable, regardless of:
- Whether the output meets your expectations
- Quality or accuracy of generated content
- Personal preferences about the result
- Changes in your project requirements
Important: AI-generated content may vary in quality and may not always meet specific expectations. We recommend starting with our free tier to evaluate the service before purchasing additional credits.
2.2 Unused Credits
- Subscription plans: Unused credits expire at the end of your billing cycle
- Credit packs: Unused credits from one-time purchases remain valid for 12 months from purchase date
- Expired credits cannot be refunded or reinstated
2.3 Duplicate Charges
If you are accidentally charged multiple times for the same transaction:

- Provide transaction details and proof of duplicate charges
- We will investigate and refund duplicate charges within 5-7 business days
3. Subscription Management
3.1 Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- How to cancel: Through your account settings or by contacting support
- Effect of cancellation: Your subscription will not renew at the next billing cycle
- Access continuation: You retain access to your subscription benefits until the end of your current billing period
3.2 Mid-Cycle Cancellation
If you cancel mid-cycle:
- You continue to have access until the billing period ends
- Remaining credits can be used until expiration
- No pro-rated refunds are provided for unused subscription time
3.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled:
- Renewal occurs on your billing date
- Payment method on file will be charged
- You will receive an email notification before renewal
To avoid unwanted charges, cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before your renewal date.
4. Refund Exceptions
4.1 System Failures
Full or partial refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:
Technical Failures
- Service outage: If our platform experiences extended downtime during your subscription period
- Generation failures: If credits are deducted but no content is generated due to server errors
- Data loss: If generated content is lost due to our system failure before you can download it

- Provide your account details and description of the issue
- Include screenshots or error messages if available
We will investigate and either:
- Credit restoration: Add credits back to your account
- Refund: Issue a refund for affected charges (in cases of significant service disruption)
4.2 Fraudulent Activity
If your account is compromised and unauthorized charges occur:
- Report the incident immediately to support@seedance.ai
- We will investigate and may issue a refund for unauthorized transactions
- You may be required to provide documentation or report to law enforcement
4.3 Billing Errors
If there is an error in billing (incorrect amount charged):
- Contact us within 30 days of the charge
- We will correct the error and refund any overcharge
5. Credit Restoration
5.1 Model Server Outages
If ByteDance's model servers experience large-scale downtime:
- Credits consumed during the outage may be restored
- We will notify affected users via email
- Restoration typically occurs within 3-5 business days
5.2 Generation Failures
If generation fails due to our system error:
- Credits will be automatically restored to your account
- If automatic restoration doesn't occur, contact support with your generation ID
6. Free Trial Policy
6.1 Free Trial Terms
New users may receive:
- A limited number of free credits upon signup
- Access to basic features during the trial period
6.2 Trial Limitations
- One free trial per user (per email address or payment method)
- Free trial credits cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash
- Abuse of free trial (creating multiple accounts) may result in account suspension
7. Enterprise and Custom Plans
For enterprise customers with custom agreements:
- Refund terms may differ based on your contract
- Contact your account manager for specific refund policies
- Custom SLAs (Service Level Agreements) may apply
8. Chargebacks
8.1 Before Filing a Chargeback
We strongly encourage you to contact us before filing a chargeback with your payment provider:

8.2 Consequences of Chargebacks

9. Payment Methods
9.1 Accepted Payment Methods
We accept payments through:
- Stripe: Credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods
- Creem: Alternative payment processing (available in select regions)
9.2 Payment Failures
If a payment fails:
- Your subscription may be suspended
- We will attempt to re-process the payment

To restore service:
- Update your payment method in account settings
- Outstanding balances must be paid before service restoration
10. Refund Processing
10.1 Refund Timeline
Approved refunds are processed as follows:
